Healthy Hallam Week, 14–18 March

The Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union officers know from experience that staying healthy can be difficult at University. As a student you’re responsible for your own health, experiencing a different culture, managing on a student budget and juggling a busy social life with studying – and probably all for the first time. That's why we set up the Healthy Hallam initiative, and we’re holding the first ever Healthy Hallam Week in March to support it.

What is Healthy Hallam Week?

We’ve planned a range of events and activities related to mental health, sexual health, affordable healthy eating, hydration and fitness and exercise. It pulls together all the successful wellbeing services from across the University and the Students’ Union so you get a complete package of support.

What types of activities does it include?

There's loads of free stuff on offer over the week including

  • health MOTs
  • meditation classes
  • a £25 weekly shopping booklet plus tasters
  • a dunk tank in Hallam square where you can dunk the officers
  • free exercise sessions
  • talks and workshops with health experts
  • walk-in services, including a sexual health clinic
  • activities such as rowing and a blender bike
  • displays with information to take away

We’ll also be giving away freebies, including bottled water to support our mission to keep you hydrated.
