Top tips for final year students

Monday 28 March 2016

This is a huge year for you as you finish your studies and prepare for the next stage of your life. It's an exciting but understandably daunting time, so we've included some top tips to help you make the transition and get ready for whatever's coming next.

Take advantage of expert advice

If you're uncertain what the future holds, why not talk it through with a careers adviser? As well as helping you find and apply for jobs, they can talk you through other options such as postgraduate study or even taking a year out. Visit Careers Connect to find out more about this and other support.

Find out about self-employment support

Want to be your own boss? You could benefit from one-to-one support, free office facilities, workshops and events plus opportunities for grants and funding. Call into the Careers Connect for details.

Check out our 25% discount

You could qualify for a postgraduate discount of 25% off your course fees, or 10% for research degrees. By staying on another year, you could give your career a huge boost – improving both your chances of getting a job and your salary prospects. In fact on average, postgraduates in full-time work earn over £13,000 more than graduates with a first degree.*
