Emma Rigby, BSc (Honours) Mathematical Sciences
Project assistant at Venture Matrix
I'm a project assistant with Venture Matrix, mostly involved with external projects. This experience will help me develop the important employability skills that will be vital for when I graduate.
The role is very much focused on development. I receive a great amount of support from my work colleagues, who encourage me to attend training courses which I can add to my CV. I get to meet a lot of different people from a wide range of organisations, which is a great way to build useful links for when I graduate.
I think that work experience during my degree is so important when applying for a job. A degree will get you an interview, but you need real-life work experiences to talk about to show you're employable.
