Sheffield food classics
Here are five specials to try from some of Sheffield's finest independent eateries, with tips from student and Hallam Insider Yuvini Hettiarachchi.
1. Return of the mac at the Twisted Burger Company
Macaroni cheese with a double bacon patty in a bun. A match made in heaven.
Yuvini says: 'If it’s yummy burgers that are oozing with cheese, sauce and excess you are craving, the Harley is the place to be. This live music bar also has a great vibe and is definitely worth checking out!'
2. Korean chicken taco at Shyboy Cantina
Korea meets Mexico on Division Street.
3. Mini thali at Urban Choola
One price, many dishes, all good.
4. Chicken and waffles at Lucky Fox
A Sheffield take on an all-American classic.
Yuvini says: 'This American-style dinner is home to Sheffield’s best fried chicken ‘n’ waffle and freakshake (monstrous mashup of milkshake and dessert). Although it’s relatively small, with only a handful of tables, the diner has a relaxed laid-back vibe, making it particularly perfect for a Saturday morning brunch sesh.'
5. Blueberry maple cheesecake and shortbread crumble doughnut at Eve Kitchen
Everything you love about cheesecake. In a doughnut.
