Transnational Education Partners in India
The Department of Law and Criminology and The Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice have agreed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Law University.
The partnership has led to the joint development of a UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office project to improve access to justice, rights and protection for female victims of violence in the states of Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
A number of collaborative events and exchanges have been organized in India and the UK, including seminars on ‘Moving towards a victim-orientated criminal justice system’ and ‘The search for victim perspectives in criminology’. A group of Indian police officers and academics also took part in a study tour to Sheffield Hallam to review best practices in combating gender violence.
