How to apply – information for incoming exchange students
We welcome applications from candidates currently studying at our exchange partner institutions.
Most exchange opportunities are for level 5 (second year) undergraduate programmes and you will need to have completed your first year in a related undergraduate degree prior to commencing your exchange period at SHU.
You will also need to evidence an appropriate level of English and provide any available academic transcripts from your University studies to date. Art and Design applicants are also required to submit a portfolio with their application form.
Students applying for an exchange period at SHU will have to select a minimum credit load of 60 CATS (30 ECTS) credits per semester.
Alternative modules may be offered to applicants depending on demand for places and timetabling considerations.
We recommend that you contact your international office or college exchange co-ordinator for the latest information about studying on exchange at Sheffield Hallam University. They will be able to advise you which courses you can study on exchange so that you can check whether we offer the modules you need. You can also visit our module catalogue here.
