Courses

We offer a variety of courses in partnership with the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology. There are opportunities to study in Sri Lanka, and upon graduation you will receive a UK degree certificate.

We offer the following courses at SLIIT:

BEng (Honours) Electronic Engineering

This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and is the first step to becoming an incorporated engineer.

Areas studied include personal project, electronic engineering, digital signal processing and mobile communications, optoelectronics and microelectronic systems applications, optical fibre communications, project management.

If you successfully complete this course you may be eligible to a discount off your course fees if you choose to progress onto masters study with us.

If you have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.3 or greater, you will be accepted on to the programme.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Management

This is a one year honours course for those students who have successfully completed the Diploma in Business Management at SLIIT

Areas studied include strategic marketing, management information systems and e-commerce.

If you successfully complete this course you may be eligible to a discount off your course fees if you choose to progress onto masters study with us.

If you successfully complete the first two years at SLIIT, you will receive the National Diploma in Business Management. After a further year of studies, you are eligible to receive the Bachelors Degree in Business Management offered by Sheffield Hallam University.

MSc Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering

From July 2012, this course will be delivered at SLIIT in Sri Lanka.

MSc Enterprise Applications Development

This is a masters course for graduates in software engineering, computer science or information technology, or with a degree in a relevant field with three years experience in software development.

Areas studied include implementation and development of leading enterprise systems, design and implementation techniques in building large scale systems.

MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management

This course gives you the knowledge and skills required to manage global supply chains and associated logistics.

This course is suitable for

  • Recent graduates aiming a career in rapidly growing logistic and supply chain sectors
  • Supply chain practitioners wanting to become specialists or managers
  • Engineers and managers needing to develop their knowledge skills in logistics and supply chain management

Areas studied include strategic sourcing and procurement, project and quality management, finance and marketing, lean operations and six sigma, logistics and enterprise information systems, warehouse systems and transportation, global supply chain and manufacturing, supply chain modelling and simulation, project and dissertation

BEng (Hons) Software Engineering

Gain the knowledge and practical skills required to develop fit-for-purpose software systems using the latest software engineering methods.

Areas of study include a large personal project, management of IT projects, case studies in software design, applications, frameworks and architectures, advanced databases and client server applications.

If you have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.3 or greater, you will be accepted onto the programme.
