Our partnership with TAR UC

Sheffield Hallam has worked closely with TAR UC since 1999 and we are proud that more than 10,000 TAR UC students have graduated with a Sheffield Hallam degree.

TAR UC and Sheffield Hallam have developed a range of dual award programmes so TAR UC students gain international experience by studying part of their degree in Sheffield in the UK.

As part of the dual award degree programme, you'll study for three months at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.

A student-friendly city

Sheffield is the UK's fourth largest city and is one of the safest and most affordable cities in the country. It is the study destination of choice for more than 50,000 students because it's a vibrant and friendly city. Located in the centre of the UK, Sheffield is two hours from London and one hour from Manchester by train.

Access to advanced facilities

As a student at Sheffield Hallam you will have access to our facilities and services. We've invested more than £100m over the last decade, ensuring your study is supported by some of the most advanced learning, teaching and IT facilities in the UK.

Examples include our learning centres which are open 24 hours, 7 days a week and specialist course facilities, such as our restaurant-standard training kitchen and dining facilities.

While in Malaysia and Sheffield, you will have access to Blackboard, our virtual learning environment and e-learning system, which you can use to access course materials and lecture notes.

We'll support you

Our dedicated International Student Support Team provides a range of support services for our international students. They can answer any questions you have before you travel to Sheffield and when you arrive through our Meet and Greet Desk. They also arrange a special programme of events and activities to other cities and sights of interest, including Manchester, York and the Peak District.


All of our accommodation is within easy walking distance of the city centre and provides security and comfort. Our Accommodation Services Team will allocate you a room and will provide you with more details before you start your study in Sheffield.

Your future

You will have access to our Careers and Employability Centre during your studies in the UK and after you graduate. They run workshops to improve your CV and interview skills and can help you apply for your dream job.
