Art and Design Summer School
Experience life as a student at one of the most established art and design schools in the UK
Teaching first began at Sheffield Institute of Arts, part of Sheffield Hallam University, in 1843 and the city of Sheffield remains one of the UK's largest practising communities of artists and designers. We're one of the top modern universities in the UK for art and design research, with 81% ranked internationally excellent or world leading in the national 2014 Research Excellence Framework.
Our students have access to outstanding facilities including our own art gallery, a stop-motion animation studio, creative media suites, rapid prototype machines including 3D printers and laser cutters and specialist workshops and studios for art, design, animation, architecture, creative writing, furniture-making, metalwork, and print-making.
Our residential summer school offers a first-class learning experience as well as a real taste of what it's like to be part of our creative community. This year's summer school will take place Monday 29 July – Friday 16 August 2019.
