We offer competitive rates of pay and a yearly increase. The majority of our staff are on our pay and grading structure and move up one increment on a yearly basis (below the standard grade maximum) subject to satisfactory performance.
From the 1st August 2018, the University is paying the Real Living Wage to all employees. This includes employees in training roles, such as student placements and apprentices, as well as employees paid on the single pay spine. The pay rate is reviewed and updated each January.

Depending on the job you're appointed to, you will be automatically entered into either the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) or Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS).
You can also choose to remain in the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) if you are a current member. All of these schemes are defined benefit pension schemes.
The university also offers you the opportunity to join the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) if you choose to opt out of the LGPS or TPS.
