Resuming face-to-face teaching
14 April 2021
Following the government’s April 13 update on in-person teaching, students who are learning online will not be able to return to campus teaching before 17 May.
This means that most of our undergraduate students will not have planned on-campus teaching before exams and assessments begin.
For postgraduate taught students, we plan to resume on-campus teaching from 17 May. We will contact you directly with details.
Postgraduate research students can access specialist research facilities where necessary. If you do not need these facilities, please continue to study from home.
We are developing plans for further reopening of research spaces and other facilities. We aim to provide many campus facilities for research students from 17 May, and will update you through Blackboard and research institute communications.
If you are an international student, whether in Sheffield or in your home country, our International Experience Team will contact you to discuss your options for the remainder of the academic year.
Teaching and learning in 2021–22
We are working hard to ensure opportunities to recoup delayed learning and practical experiences, whether over the summer or in the first few weeks of Semester 1 in September. We will update you as plans are confirmed.
Support for final year students
If you are graduating this year, we continue to develop our Class of 2021 offer. This is a wide-ranging package of support to help you address the challenges you’ll face as graduates and to make the most of the time you have left at Hallam.
We will give as much further detail as we can in our weekly Student Digest email, and your course teams will be in contact with you too. Please do keep checking your email and Blackboard sites for updates.
