Refurbishment of helpdesks

Between 29 October and 12 December, Owen main reception and Adsetts library helpdesk will close while refurbishment work takes place, reopening as new look Hallam Help Points in January. Alternative desks will be provided in each area with signs to point you towards the temporary location.

As further works take place, there will be some additional changes to current helpdesks around campus. We'll keep you updated of these changes nearer the time.

SHU cards will be issued from the Accommodation Office (38/40 Howard Street) during the refurbishment works and security will continue to patrol the Owen reception area.

Working together to improve services

From January 2019, we are refreshing the Hallam Help service to provide easier access to online support and eliminate the need to visit multiple helpdesks. This is in response to student feedback provided when asked about how we could improve our accessibility to services both face to face and online.

Hallam Help Points will provide a consistent range of services at each location, alongside specialist help where you need it, for example, access to specialist support offered by the Disability team, Wellbeing, Employment Advisers, Student Support Services or the Students' Union.

Additional help points will continue to be available for when you need specific help or advice with things such as accommodation, admissions, wellbeing and careers. You can also get support from the Students Union Hubs at each campus.
