Over the course of the academic year food engineering students are invited to attend a series of fortnightly lectures delivered by engineering specialists and industry leaders from our partners - Mondelēz International, Nestlé UK, Arla, General Mills and Coca-Cola, just to name a few.

Each lecture is themed, with topics ranging from food safety and food hygiene to thermodynamics, to ensure students gain real industry knowledge to support their studies. As part of this programme, students have had the opportunity to hear from Fiona Kendrick, chairman of Nestlé UK and Ireland. Fiona's lecture provided a valuable insight in to the operations and the engineering challenges facing the world's largest food and drink company.

Angela Coleshill, director of employment and skills at the Food and Drink Federation said: 'It was a wonderful opportunity for students to hear from a real expert who has really achieved in the field. There is no substitute for people with experience to bring to life the course curriculum."

Can you or your colleagues inspire the next generation of food and drink engineers? If you are interested in supporting our programmes by delivering a guest lecture, please complete our enquiry form and a member of our team will be in touch soon to discuss your area of interest.
