Research and Innovation Office
The Research and Innovation Office is a central directorate of around 30 staff that provides research and innovation support across the University, including
- applications for research grants and contracts, preparation for the REF, contributions to and coordination of research policy, research data and intelligence
- business development services including the University's Business Gateway enquiry service, promotion of the University's business services, KTP development, and the commercialisation of intellectual property and related opportunities
- corporate specialist services including commercial contracts, funding and management support for key corporate projects, management and monitoring of HEIF, and support for knowledge transfer-related funding
- contributing to the University's employability strategy by developing and delivering a range of initiatives to support students and recent graduates to develop their business concepts and establish their own businesses
Research and business
Businesses, public sector and voluntary sector organisations can all get involved in research at Sheffield Hallam. This could involve gaining an objective independent view on an established problem, using us as a source of new ideas or simply accessing our specialist expertise and equipment.
