Arab Health 2014
Friday 24 January 2014
Colleagues from across the college visited Dubai this week exhibiting the College offer at the Arab Health Congress 2014. This event hosts 19 different conferences covering a range of healthcare topics. Professor Tom Smith from the BMRC has sent us this report.
'After an effortless journey here yesterday, we travelled across the city by night. Everything in Dubai is astonishingly new - barely a speck of dust even on the wide highways and every car large, pristine and shining. As this morning's heavy mist has started to clear the city began to reveal its character. From the window of my hotel room a helipad across the street and the dome and minarets of a mosque on the horizon were visible.
'We have had a fair number of enquiries at the stand yesterday - including people interested in MSc degrees in, partnership for split PhDs and potential PhD students.
'The meeting is vast. It takes at least 20 minutes to walk from one end to the other and there are halls upon halls of trade stands. There were over 100,000 delegates last year and more this time. We hope the rest of the week will be as productive as it has been so far.'
