Our electronics laboratory provides electronic design, construction, test and repair facilities for prototyping or small production runs of electronic circuits, including surface mount rework capability.
We have 25 years of electronics design expertise including sensor interfacing, wireless data telemetry and embedded microcontroller code (PIC devices assembler and embedded C). Applications have included sports, human-interface and medical devices.
We specialise in the design of low-power wearable or ambulatory devices for use in the field. Our current work includes long-term logging of sensors with wireless upload to web or smart devices to allow rich user interfaces.
Manufacturing and prototyping workshop
We have an in-house fully equipped manufacturing and prototype workshop. This allows us to react to the client's needs and ensure full customer confidentiality. These facilities are capable of
- wide-ranging service of in-house fabrication and high-quality precision engineering
- working with a wide range of materials, including bulk metals, plastics and aerospace grade alloys
- a service from creation of an initial prototype through to liaison with manufacturers for full production
We can also access the extensive manufacturing and prototyping facilities at the University as needed.
