The aim of the biomechanics theme group is to develop and apply ecologically valid measurement tools and techniques for use in sport and health.
We use our expertise in biomechanics, engineering, sensor technology and computer programming to perform biomechanical analysis out of the lab, in the field. We have several ongoing projects within the group. These include:
- the use of depth cameras in biomechanics
- ground reaction force measurements in platform diving
- field based gait retraining to reduce lower extremity loads in runners
