This exhibition showcases educational design work, which intends to playfully engage children and the young at heart with the ancient scripts of Linear A and B.

The ADRC-funded project consisted of a trans-disciplinary team of Designers and Archaeologists, all contributing their ideas, specific skills and knowledge to this not-for profit research. Collaboratively they have created a number of playful approaches that aim to engage a broad audience with knowledge and meaning making in relation to the oldest un-deciphered and deciphered European scripts. The project is now culminating in a touring exhibition which will see the work travelling from the Sheffield Institute of Arts to the British School at Athens and then onto the Heraklion Archaeological Museum in order to reach a broad audience of children and adults as well as Archaeology and Museum professionals.

You are invited to come and play with the prototypes of these designs, to help us test them and reflect on the role design can play in bringing archaeological heritage to life.
