I graduated in Fine Art from Leicester Polytechnic (now DeMontford University) in 1988. After working in hospitality, printing, and publishing for twelve years I returned to making art in 2000. Between 2006 and 2008, I was part of the small team that delivered FRED, the site-specific Cumbrian art festival. I have exhibited in the UK and Germany.

Completing a MA at Sheffield Hallam University in 2010 provided me with a platform from which to research a PhD at the same institution. My MA studies revealed how my own work was engaged with ideas of reiteration and copying.

I teach at the Open College of the Arts and am an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam, as well as being a trustee of Bank Street Arts in Sheffield. I am part of the Sheffield-based Guerrilla Writing Collective, which informally investigates radical strategies for producing and managing text and language, which complements the more traditionally visual approach of my studio practice.
