Paul is a graduate from the furniture school at the Royal College of Art. He was founder and co-director of FLUX design ltd London before his move into academia.

He has designed for industrial production, exhibited widely and won international awards for his work. His work has been featured in numerous books that contextualise the history of Design and his RIB chair is in the 20th century collection of the V&A museum, London and the museum of Decorative Arts Prague.
