RAPTOR evaluation

Universities manage a massive range of online subscriptions to external information sources and publishers. Managing the services is particularly complex because of the mass of information now provided online and there being no single mechanism for monitoring access and authentication information.  The RAPTOR tool offers a means of accessing and assessing this information in a consistent manner.

However RAPTOR has developed as a new 'solution' and as such has not been tried extensively.

Sheffield Hallam University assessed the RAPTOR tool through the process of installation and integration. The aim was to see how well it meets its intended aims. In doing so user comments and feedback were gathered and interpreted using a tabular assessment framework. The results were used to identify how RAPTOR could be modified to best meet the needs of the university sector.
