I hail from the southern state in India named Kerala, known as 'God's Own Country' to tourists. The state is renowned for its high literacy rate, hovering around 95%, along with its greenery and serenity. I did my schooling, gained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application and Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Cochin, the business capital of the state.
I started my career as a corporate customer relation executive with Vodafone India. I also had a short stint in sales with a regional TV channel. I left that job to help my father set up a business after his retirement. My role was to conduct market and supply chain research that could guide the business.
Soon after I re-entered corporate life. It was while working for IBM’s HR operations team in the IT capital of India, Bangalore, that I came across Cloud Computing.
In January 2012 I enrolled on Sheffield Hallam University’s MScWeb and Cloud Computing course. During the writing of my dissertation, I developed a keen interest in Human Computer Interaction from the discussions I had with my supervisor, Dr Chris Roast. My background in customer service, IT and few personal experiences triggered the research interest which motivated me to take up a research degree. I see myself becoming an academic in the higher education sector a few years from now.
