Professor Charmaine Childs has received second place in the category of Innovation in Wound Care at the recent World Union of Wound Healing Societies, held in Florence, September 2016. This prize was in recognition of Professor Child’s contribution from extending the boundaries of wound care practice to setting up new services that improve patient care, health-care professionals and researchers are developing innovative services in wound care. This award was open to individuals or teams who had demonstrated an innovative, novel approach to an existing challenge in wound care.
