Lead investigator Rachel Ibbotson
Funded by National Institute Health Research (via Kings College)
Amount £55,091
Dates September 2008 - August 2010

Aim

To generate a preference-based single index for each of two instruments disease-specific measures of health related quality of life in dementia (DEMQOL and DEMQOL-Proxy) for use in economic evaluation using general population and patient/carer values. They will be known as DEMQOL-nD and DEMQOL-Proxy-nD. This will be carried out via a five step process:

  • phase 1: derivation of the health state classification
  • phase 2: main population valuation survey
  • phase 3: patient/carer valuation survey
  • phase 4: modelling
  • phase 5: application to trial data

Impact

This focuses on applied user-specific research from quality research funders. This particular focus is within health.
