Aim 

The project investigates the economic case for the ‘every contact counts’ workforce development policy. The project was conducted to analyse the potential economic benefits of the ‘make every contact count’ intervention - the ways in which conveying consistent, positive health messages by NHS staff to people who come in contact with them could contribute towards improvement in health outcomes and reductions in healthcare expenditures.

Impact 

This research became a core part of the world class commissioning agenda in the NHS. This links to the intelligent commissioning theme of the CLAHRC programme, hosted by the Centre for Health and Social Care Research and the European Decipher Project, led by the centre which is modelling cardiovascular disease reduction in four World Health Organisation (WHO) healthy cities in Europe.
