To develop a detailed understanding of the root causes of disparities in maternal health care, and in particular, how gender and class influence policy formulation, resource allocation and the design and delivery of maternal health care services.
The project will include significant knowledge translation activities in which researchers will engage with policy makers and practitioners to identify innovative ways of addressing obstacles to maternal care among marginalised groups of women.
