Aim

In partnership with the department of nutrition at Andalas University, this study investigated the impact of maternal obesity on maternal and neonatal health outcomes in Padang-Indonesia. Obesity is a growing health problem globally. Maternal obesity during pregnancy has shown to have serious impact on maternal and neonatal health. This study aimed to identify the prevalence of maternal obesity in West Sumatra, and to establish a cohort of mothers and infants whose data provided information over a period of two years on the health outcomes of mothers and infants.
