The aim of this project was to design a high definition (HD) video capture and review system for sportscotland institute of sport. This system is now installed at the gym at the Judo Scotland training centre.
The main requirements of iJudo were
- to be operated using a touchscreen
- to provide a simple, user-friendly interface
- to use high quality video
The iJudo system is a bespoke software application that is used to record/review two HD cameras in the gym. There are three different capture modes which are (1) start-stop capture, (2) post-trigger capture and (3) live delay.
The software provides a user friendly front-end which allows the athlete/coach to quickly search for stored video footage using a touch screen PC. The footage is shown on a large LCD screen in the gym.
The system can also be operated using an iPad, which gives the coach the freedom to move around the gym whilst controlling the capture system.
They have been able to use iJudo over the last few weeks in their training and have been finding it very useful and have lots of ideas for how they will use it for different things going forwards so thanks very much for all your brilliant work on it!
Judo Scotland had a very successful Commonwealth Games in Glasgow (2014) winning 6 gold medals and 13 medals in total
