We recruit high-quality, motivated students to carry out theoretical and applied PhD projects which are often sponsored by external clients. On average we take on two to three PhD students each year.
We provide a stimulating and supportive environment within the centre, with extensive facilities to support the research. Students also undertake a programme of training in research methods, literature retrieval, oral presentation skills, project planning and costing, academic and technical writing skills, IPR and patents.
Our students are expected to attend and contribute to seminars and are encouraged and supported in presenting their research at conferences. They have regular meetings with the supervisory team and are trained in relevant computational and laboratory techniques.
If you're interested in studying with us, see our Opportunities page where we advertise our funded PhD posts as and when they arise. Please note the selection procedure is competitive.
