Impact evaluation of National College grants

Our evaluation of a series of National College funded grants aims to quantify the impact of these grants using a Social Return on Investment (SROI) approach. The evaluation takes a five phase process with a new wave of research beginning every 4-5 months. Our approach seeks to identify benefits to a wide range of stakeholders, develop logic models, quantify benefits through surveying, to produce good practice case studies and to use SROI modelling techniques to derive the impact from the investment in financial terms.

Impact

The research study is almost half way through its course and evaluation data has been captured for three individual grant types (Professional Partner grants, Bursary and Deployment Fund). Phase 3 has recently commenced and is focusing on Succession Planning grants. The evaluation data generated enables the client to have access to data to support continuous improvement and identification of good practice. The evaluation will also work towards establishing a framework and system to support the on-going evaluation of grants for the future.
