How to apply through clearing

This page explains the clearing application process for courses starting this year. If you're completely new to clearing, it might help to read our FAQ page first.

Choose one of the following options:

If you've already applied through UCAS

If you don’t get the results you needed for your first or second choice university, you can still find a place at Sheffield Hallam through clearing.

Here’s how it works, in three simple steps.

Step 1: Check UCAS Track

Before you do anything else, check UCAS Track to see if your first or second choice university has confirmed your place.

If not, it’s time to enter clearing.

Step 2: Make the call

It’s time to call us on 0330 024 6390.

When you ring up, you’ll need a full list of your results, plus your GCSE grades.

Be prepared to talk about why you want to study the course. Think about what you wrote in your personal statement.

If we make you an offer, we’ll email you the details, so make sure you use an email address you can check regularly.

Step 3: Accept your offer

When you receive an offer of a place, log into UCAS Track and add your clearing choice to accept your offer.
