High Achievement Scholarship

We award the High Achievement Scholarship to eligible full-time undergraduate students in recognition of the grades they achieve to get into university. To qualify, you must achieve A level grades ABB or higher, or BTEC grades DDM or higher and make Sheffield Hallam your firm choice and have a household income of less than £42,000. Check the criteria for other specified qualifications.

If you qualify, £1,000 will be awarded to you in two instalments throughout the academic year. The first £500 will be loaded onto your SHU card in the Autumn term which can be used to purchase food on campus, books from Blackwell's in the Student's Union. You will also earn loyalty points on your £500 SHU card spend, which you'll be able to spend in the same way. Find out more about using your SHU card on campus.

The second £500 will be paid to you in cash in February, so you can choose what you spend it on, whether it is books for your course, living expenses (such as food and rent), or payment of tuition fees.

This scholarship does not apply to students on a Department of Health funded course.
