How to apply
Most people looking for a part-time course will have a clear idea of the kind of professional skills they need to acquire. Some people may want to get a very specific professional qualification while others may need more general training. There are often different types of qualification and different ways you can study for them within the same subject area.
Applicants from all backgrounds
Our students come from many backgrounds. As well as general advice on your study choices we give specialist support and information relating to how to choose and apply for courses depending on your background. This includes support for disabled students and international students.
Once you have decided on a course, contact us for an application form or download our standard application form. You must apply before enrolment for courses unless specifically stated otherwise. After applying, we may ask you to come for an interview.
We consider each application individually. We interview mature applicants and for certain courses an interview is compulsory. Or we may invite you to come to an open day to meet staff and see some of the University's facilities. If we offer you a place we will explain how to accept or decline. If at any stage you decide to withdraw your application, please contact the Admissions Office on 0114 225 5555 immediately.
