The Social for Autistic Students
“The Social has let me build the confidence I need to start talking to people”
The Inclusive Support Team organises social activities and peer support for autistic students.
We organise meet ups at local cafes, such as Hygge, the Treehouse Board Games Café and Tabby Teas cat café and at outdoor spaces such as the Botanical Gardens. We organise online Zoom socials, and we have a peer support and Jenga group that takes place on campus.
There is no pressure to talk or join in with activities and you can attend as little or as often as you want to.
When are they?
During semester our monthly meet ups at Hygge café are on Thursdays (mid- month) from 2.00pm to 3.30pm. Our peer support sessions are on Wednesdays from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in the Multifaith Centre, Level 2, Owen building.
Our trips to other cafes/places in Sheffield are usually on Friday afternoons.
