The uncertainly around coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) can be unsettling and you may be finding that you have worries about the virus and how it might affect your life.

We have put together some resources that might be helpful if you are finding the situation difficult or stressful.

Please note that whilst we hope that all of the resources below are useful, the Student Wellbeing Service does not endorse the opinions expressed by other parties.

Resource Description
IAPT - mental health support during coronavirus Anyone living or working in Sheffield who is struggling with their mental health during the Coronavirus lockdown can now access free NHS support over the phone or online. A 4 week course is also available.
Sheffield Mental Health Guide (Sheffield Flourish) Details of available mental health support as well as activities and toolkits
Facebook Group A 'Corona Community' Facebook group for group for Hallam Students developed by our Students Union 
Togetherall Togetherall has content specifically relating to looking after your wellbeing during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Support for Healthcare Workers

App Description
Psychological Wellbeing for Healthcare Workers A learning tool developed with the aim of mitigating the impact of COVID-19 on psychological wellbeing
NCL in Mind A wellbeing and mental health project to connect and support the North Central London health and social care workforce during the Coronavirus outbreak. Whilst it has been developed to support this group, the resources are relevant for any health worker.

Support in a crisis

Resource Description
Shout Shout is a 24/7 text service which aims to take you from a 'hot moment' to feeling calmer. If you're experiencing a personal crisis, are unable to cope and need support, text Shout to 85258
Samaritans A 24-hour support service to discuss personal issues. Many of the Samaritans’ branches are also open to visitors, so you can to speak to someone in person. They also offer support to those worried about>
