Facilities

Our facilities support practical learning, teaching and research across the Sheffield Institute of Law and Social Sciences. You’ll have access to specialist spaces, technology and resources that reflect professional practice.

Build your skills by making the most of spaces across the university campus for collaboration and research. Some of our facilities include:

  • soundproof and climate control rooms
  • spaces for running focus groups and one-to-one interviews
  • purpose-built moot court for mock trials
  • Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice and Justice Hubs
  • on-campus Legal Advice Centre

We also have a range of specialist laboratory spaces for a wide variety of research studies. These labs utilise dedicated software, including:

  • advanced eye-tracking technology
  • electroencephalograph (EEG) facilities
  • a Psychophysics laboratory
  • an observation suite with four high-definition video cameras and microphones
  • Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation equipment
