As an incoming international student, we are excited to welcome you to our vibrant and diverse community. To help you settle in smoothly and make the most of your time here, we offer a comprehensive orientation program.
This program is packed with essential information about the University, the support services available to you, and is a fantastic opportunity to get acquainted with Sheffield and meet your fellow new students.
Orientation will be held on Thursday 15 January, with additional International Welcome sessions happening on Thursday 22 January. Make sure to attend your course induction also.
Morning welcome session – Hear from staff and current students as they share essential information to help you settle in and make the most of your time at university.
Student Success Marketplace – Explore stalls and speak to friendly staff from a range of University services, local NHS representatives, and bank branches, to help you get set up for life in the UK.
Social activity – Take part in a fun event designed to help you get to know Sheffield and meet other new students from around the world.
In addition to the main Orientation day, there will be key information sessions on Thursday 22 January covering study skills, finding a part-time job and getting signed up to our Medical Centre. It is highly recommended you attend these International Welcome sessions, along with Orientation and your course induction.

Exchange Student Induction*
Friday 16 January, 10am - 12pm, Dorothy Fleming Lecture Theatre, Charles St building
This dedicated induction session is just for exchange students and offers a warm welcome to your new university. You'll meet your academic contact, get an overview of key support services and social activities, and receive tailored information to help you settle in and make the most of your study abroad.
*No booking necessary. All exchange students will be invited to attend this session.
The International Welcome programme is delivered by the GoGlobal team, with contributions from staff from specialist teams at Hallam, as well as current students.
You will not need to login to access the forms. Once you have submitted your choices you will not be able to edit them. If you submit a second form we will disregard your first, and only record your most recent choices.
