International Orientation

International Orientation

The International Orientation programme will begin on-campus on Wednesday 14 September 2022*, with a schedule of in-person sessions over 3 days. Key information sessions will be repeated online at a later date. The Orientation programme is delivered by staff and current students, and, in addition to information sessions, includes a welcome dinner (16 September & 22 September), a trip to York (24 September & 1 October) and fun social activities.

All activities must be booked in advance here. You will need to activate your IT account in order to access the form. Most sessions are repeated, please book and attend just one.

Check the city campus map for the locations of the sessions, and visit the Meet and Greet desk with any questions. 

Book onto a City campus tour here, happening Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 September, 10am - 1pm. Tours begin from Hallam View, Level 6, Owen Building. Please ask at the Meet & Greet desk if you have any queries.

Welcome Dinner

Our popular welcome dinner will feature a hot meal and a quiz, and offer an opportunity to meet new friends from around the world. A vegetarian option is available.

Trip to York

Popular with local and international tourists, York is one of the most historic cities in the UK. Among its many attractions are the famous castle, minster and museums, including the National Railway Museum.

Tickets for this trip cost £12 and must be bought in advance.

 


Walk to Weston Park and Crookes Valley Park

Join us for a 30 minute walk to Weston Park on the outskirts of the City. This trip will be led by our student crew, please meet at the Main University Entrance, Owen Building. There will be also be a chance to explore Weston and Crookes Valley Park and grab a coffee from one of the cafes nearby.

Walk to the Peak District

Sheffield is the greenest City in Europe, come and find out why on our guided trip to the edge of Peak District. This event will involve a 5-8 km walk so please bring refreshments and wear sensible shoes.
