Dr David Moxon is a senior lecturer in criminology. Following undergraduate studies in law and a Masters degree in international political economy, David undertook doctoral research on a socio-legal theme (all at the University of Sheffield). He was awarded his PhD, entitled 'Marxist Legal Theory in Late Modernity', in 2008. David taught for two years on the jurisprudence course at Sheffield, before moving to Sheffield Hallam in 2006 to teach on the criminological theory course. He was appointed lecturer in 2007, and promoted to senior lecturer in 2010. His recent research focuses on the contemporary viability of Marxist theory in the criminological arena, and he is also involved in a project analysing the 'hidden' drug use of older adults.
