Higher and Degree Apprenticeships
Earn while you learn and fast-track your career
Be one of the first to start our new higher or degree apprenticeship schemes, and earn your way towards a successful career.
Higher and degree apprenticeships are a high-quality alternative to the traditional university degree
You spend part of your time studying at Sheffield Hallam, and the rest working for one of our partner employers, earning a full-time wage and getting invaluable experience of the workplace. Some apprenticeships also include a vocational qualifications such as an NVQ, or professional industry qualifications such as the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) diploma.
Why study on a higher or degree apprenticeship?
Essentially, you get the best of both worlds – all the academic challenge of a highly regarded degree, alongside a full-time wage and your first step on the career ladder with a prestigious employer.
You will work with and make connections with people in your chosen industry who will help you achieve your career goals in the future. And at the end of the course, you will have 2–4 years' work experience, a degree-level qualification, and you won’t owe any tuition fees back.
Who can apply for a place on a higher or degree apprenticeship?
If you’re committed to a particular career and you're eager to enter the world of work, these courses are for you.
They attract a high calibre of candidate, because our partner employers are looking for people with the potential to be the managers of the future.
If you’re not sure whether an apprenticeship is right for you, you can continue to apply for university courses via UCAS while you explore alternative career and higher education options provided through the higher and degree apprenticeship programme. It’s free to register your interest on the programme and once you have set up your account, you can apply for your dream job and manage your applications online.
