This lab enables us to perform physiological assessments on a high speed treadmill and high precision cycle ergometer using online gas analysis systems. We also have equipment to assess body composition, lung function and perform haematology. Students frequently complete the same procedures we use with high performance athletes, using the same equipment. This is usually supervised by academic staff in laboratory sessions within exercise physiology and nutrition modules, but students can also work as independent researchers during their final project assessments.
