Senior Lecturer - Nursing Charlie Cottam BA (Hons.), PG Dip, PG Cert, FHEA, RN
Senior Lecturer - Nursing
Summary
I am a Senior Lecturer in Nursing, teaching across the BSc programme. I am also a year group lead for the MSc Nursing program for both adult and mental health routes.
About
I am a Registered Nurse with over 17 years of diverse experience across clinical, strategic, and academic roles.
For the past three years, I have worked full-time at Sheffield Hallam University, where I currently lead the final-year module "Transition to Practice" and specialise in areas such as safeguarding, complex and ethical decision-making, and multi-agency collaboration.
Prior to this, I held senior roles within a large NHS Trust, including Lead Professional for Safeguarding (and temporarily Nurse Consultant). I have undertaken previous roles that required a strong focus on operational leadership, as well as establishing a brand new patient flow service in the East Midlands.
My clinical background spans acute inpatient care, community services, and specialist practice in substance misuse as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
