About

I am an experienced Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) and educator with a passion for advancing perioperative practice and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Since joining Sheffield Hallam University in February 2022, I have led various modules across the BSc and Degree Apprenticeship programs. I take pride in supporting students and practice partners in placements, driving curriculum innovations, and fostering interprofessional collaboration within the Integrated Care Curriculum.

With a strong background in clinical education and operating theatre practice at a local trust, I bring extensive hands-on expertise to my teaching. My initiatives, such as integrating VR into anatomy modules and transitioning clinical competencies to digital platforms, demonstrate my commitment to using technology to enhance learning. I also actively engage in outreach activities to promote ODP careers to future practitioners. As admissions lead I take a lead role in inspiring people to consider ODP as a career path.

I am dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students while continuously developing my own skills through CPD activities. My clinical experience spans from emergency theatre work to leadership roles, equipping me with a comprehensive perspective to guide and mentor students effectively.
