Summary

I am an experienced academic and interested in all aspects of work with marginalised young people, particularly young people and professional practice, young people in care, student transitions and risk and young people in outdoor activities. I am also interested in leadership and management in relation to the above.

About

I am currently employed as a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Law and Criminology and an Associate Lecturer in the Sheffield Institute of Education (SIOE) where I am involved with a variety of courses related to Education, Teaching and Childhood.

Prior to these (part time) roles, I was the Vice Principal for Higher Education at The Sheffield College where I was responsible for  all aspects of Higher Education and Access provision at the College.

I worked for Hallam previously over 16 years in a wide variety of Principal Lecturer roles in SIOE with responsibility for example, for staff, projects, academic development and recruitment. I also participated in a range of research projects relating to young people in Sheffield Institute's Research and Knowledge Exchange.

Before moving into Higher Education I developed a strong practice background in Youth and Community work both as practitioner and manager in South Yorkshire and London.
