Summary
I am a senior lecturer in Operating Department Practice and currently the course lead. I teach across both the full-time and degree apprenticeship courses on ODP specific and integrated modules. I also work as part of the admissions team for ODP undertaking outreach activities in the local schools and colleges
About
I am a registered experienced Operating Department Practitioner with 25 years clinical experience with a local teaching hospital as an anaesthetic practitioner across a range of clinical specialities. I joined Sheffield Hallam University in 2020 and teach across a range of modules on the full time BSc (Hons) course and the Degree Apprenticeship (Hons) course in Operating Department Practice.
I have a background in clinical education and became the course lead for the BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice in 2023. My focus is on providing an excellent student experience and quality improvement at SHU.
I am part of the admissions team and regularly work on open days and support outreach activities both on campus and with visits to local schools and colleges.
Since joining SHU I have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in academic practice and gain fellow status with the Higher Education Academy and I am currently working towards an MSc. I am currently module leading a level 6 module in developing practice education.
