About
Dr Ololade Periola is an accomplished economist, researcher, and lecturer with a strong background in teaching, data analysis, economic research, and policy advisory. Currently a lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, she teaches modules within the Finance and Economics Division and supervises masters level dissertations. She is committed to creating an engaging learning environment, with research interests in macroeconomic policy, time series modeling, and Public Financial Management (PFM).
Ololade holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, awarded under the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) scholarship. She also holds an MSc in Economics and a BSc in Economics (First Class Honours) from the same institution.
Since 2022, Ololade has been a lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, where she teaches various modules and supervises dissertations, helping students develop critical thinking and research skills. Before joining Sheffield Hallam, she held key roles, including Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Senior Project Analyst with the World Bank SFTAS Technical Assistance Programme, and Economic Analyst at the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission. These roles enhanced her expertise in economic research and policy advisory.
Ololade is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Pan-African Scientific Research Council. She has participated in several professional development programs, including "Evaluation and Managing for Sustainable Development Impact" at the Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation and "Building Capacity for Delivering Results" at the Harvard Center for International Development.
Ololade is dedicated to advancing academic and policy excellence through her teaching. Her goal is to impart knowledge, inspire critical thinking, and help students develop strong analytical skills.
