Summary

As a senior lecturer, I teach and support students by taking a learner-centred approach in line with the University's Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy. I also contribute to curriculum development and delivery, research and other forms of scholarly activity as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

About

I started my career as an Assistance Quantity Surveyor, with a precast concrete contractor. I was in-charge of preparing contract documents and cost estimates.

Subsequently, I switched my career toward academic, joined Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a lecturer. During my time with TARC, I was involved with students' placement, laboratories, sit in the department management committee, purchasing committee, programme review and development committee, programmes advisory panels and industrial expert advisory panels.

Course Tutor (equivalent as Course Leader) and etc.

I was the Head for the Division of Building at TARC before I left. As the Head of Division, I was overseeing 10 programmes in 4 disciplines, namely Architecture, Building, Property of Management and Quantity Surveying, with an average of 1,500 students population each year. The programmes were delivered in 2 campuses.

My duties as the Head of Division includes organising and co-ordinate accreditation exercise by the respective professional body, validation by Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA), marketing and students admission, maintaining the academic standard, students affair, affiliation/collaboration, finance, facilities and human resources management for the department.

After servicing for TARC for 14 years, I continue my career journey as an academician with Sheffield Hallam University as a Senior Lecturer until now.

I deliver Construction Management related modules and interested to share with students the in the areas of Project Planning, Scheduling, IT Application and Professional Practices like professional negligence, design liabilities, bonds and warranties.
