Summary

Dr. Sandhya Makkar is a dedicated educator and accomplished researcher with over fifteen years of distinguished experience in the field of Big Data Analytics and Optimization. She holds a doctoral degree in Optimization, a Master of Philosophy in Time-Cost Tradeoff Transportation Problems (Mathematical Programming), and a Postgraduate degree in Operations Research, all from the University of Delhi, India.

Currently serving as a Senior Lecturer of Big Data Analytics at Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, UK, Dr. Makkar also holds the position of Adjunct Faculty at SP Jain Global Business School in Sydney, Singapore, Dubai, and Mumbai. Throughout her academic journey, she achieved first-class honors and secured University Rank during both her graduation (Mathematics) and post-graduation (Operational Research).

In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Makkar serves as the Book Editor for two series at CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, USA: a) Information Technology, Management, and Operations Research Practices, and b) Big Data for Industry 4.0: Challenges & Applications.

Dr. Makkar has been recognized as a notable researcher and has been invited to chair technical sessions at various national and international conferences. She has authored numerous research papers and articles, actively contributing to the fields of Big Data Analytics, Supply Chain Analytics, Business Analytics, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, and Optimization Techniques.

Furthermore, Dr. Makkar has conducted Faculty Development and Management Development Programs on 'Predictive Analytics' and 'Optimization Techniques.' Her expertise has been sought by institutions such as the National Academy of Defense Production, India, for training fresh recruits in Defense on Predictive Analytics (Machine Learning), and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, India, on the same subject.

Currently, Dr. Makkar is engaged in the writing of two books: a) "Artificial Intelligence with Smart City Development" in collaboration with international partners, to be published by Taylor & Francis, USA, and b) "Artificial Intelligence in Transportations & Logistics," to be published by De Gruyter, Germany.

Passionate about Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Makkar has worked on projects related to Sentiment Analysis, Predictive Analytics, Predictive Maintenance, and more.
