Dr Chris Whiteoak has been successful in his recent application for a Royal Society of Chemistry Research Fund Grant (grant number ID RF17-1110).

He has been awarded £3,894 to purchase a high pressure reactor, allowing him to work on projects relating to the use of carbon dioxide as a chemical feedstock. The proposed project involves preparing novel cellulose surfaces with carbon dioxide derived functionalities and assessing their resulting physical and microbiological properties.
