Four of our PhD students attended this year’s YES competition, which is designed to develop business awareness and an understanding of entrepreneurship in UK postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers. This goal is achieved through a competition in which those participating prepare a business plan for a hypothetical company.

Our team, consisting of Oana Voloaca, Cameron Heaton, Jack Slater and Rob Tempest, pitched their easy, rapid and non-invasive product to diagnose breast cancer by biomarkers expressed in earwax. It was a testing few days but provided our students with a great experience and insight into entrepreneurship.
