“My aim is to equip the mentees to succeed.”
Chris Whitehead is a Mentee (EMCC Accredited Senior Practitioner) at Damflask Consulting. He is also a mentor on the Help to Grow: Management course. He discusses how business leaders can benefit from taking part in the course.
As a mentor for the Help to Grow: Management Course, what’s your previous experience of developing leadership skills and helping businesses grow?
I bring a commitment to lifelong learning into my mentoring, this includes an MBA, a Diploma in Financial Management, Fellowship of an Engineering Institution, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring. I have 14 years’ experience of business development at director level in two engineering multinationals and an SME. Since 2018 I have worked as a coach at C-suite level in private sector, third sector, and public sector organisations.
How will you help mentor business leaders on the Help to Grow: Management course?
In most instances writing a strategy is the easy part. I aim to help ensure that the mentee’s action plan is realistic and deliverable and to help mentees identify and overcome barriers to implementation, including the quality of stakeholder relationships, and their own motivation and confidence.
What do you hope the Help to Grow: Management Course will achieve?
My aim is to equip the mentees to succeed, by providing them with the tools and personal insight they need to make and implement good decisions, to monitor outcomes, and to learn.
Why should business leaders register for the Help to Grow: Management Course?
The highest return investment we can make is in ourselves – in knowledge, skills, and self-awareness. This learning programme provides an unparalleled opportunity to take a mini-MBA, share experiences with peers, and reflect with an experienced mentor.
How would you summarise the benefits of the course in three words?
Knowledge, confidence, self-awareness.
